The positioning of floating units is done with steel wire, steel chain or polyester, which are connected to fixed mooring points, such as: suction anchors, VLAs and torpedo anchors. Oil and gas are conducted to the platform through risers.
Mooring lines and risers must be designed to present a long useful life under normal operating conditions, as well as to resist extreme situations. Therefore, a fundamental step is the numerical simulation which provides elements for the design of these structures.
LCCV performs mooring lines and risers analyses through the study and computational simulation of lines dynamics. Extreme loads and fatigue analysis are also performed, supporting PETROBRAS in the study of new arrangements of lines and hulls.
